A gratitude ritual is an empowering practice that can help:
- Bring you to the present moment
- Increase happiness and wellbeing
-Improve self-love and self-worth
-Strengthen your relationships
- Better your sleep
Here are some ways you can begin practising Gratitude
1. Start a gratitude journal.
2. Begin and finish your day with an expression of Gratitude.
3. Write an appreciation note.
4. Make a gratitude jar.
5. Create a gratitude board.
6. Make or buy a gift for someone you love.
7. Create a gratitude fragrance oil, giving thanks every time you use it.
8. Give thanks to those special people around you.
9. And remember to express Gratitude to yourself too.
10. I recommend choosing 1-2 of the above suggestions to begin your ritual.
SIMPLE STEPS TO BEGIN YOUR GRATITUDE RITUAL
Tip #1 - Keep a regular practice
The more you practice being thankful, the easier it becomes. The practice may flow easily or feel slightly unnatural at first. The important thing, in the beginning, is to keep a regular practice.
An excellent place to begin is to set aside three to five minutes to express Gratitude daily for 2-4 weeks, and you'll begin to notice it flows more easily.
"We are all busy chasing the extraordinary that we forget to stop and be thankful for the ordinary."– Brene Brown
#2 Practice Gratitude verbally, visually or in writing
Verbally: Express Gratitude verbally and say thank you more often to the people around you.
Visualising: Visualise the things you are grateful for in your mind and allow yourself to notice the feelings of Gratitude in your body.
Writing: Consciously write keywords or short phrases in your Gratitude Journal. Write about the things you enjoy and appreciate.
Tip # 3 Practice With Intention
When we practice Gratitude, we intentionally make time to be thankful for the good things in life.
We can appreciate the air we breathe, our senses, mind, body and soul, or we can be grateful for the things around us.
Breathe in, relax and enjoy the present moment.
I hope you find these tips helpful and enjoy starting your Gratitude Ritual.
